The place "Thekkepurackal" is situated in Alappuzha District of Kerala state. In ancient time, there was a Devi temple ("Bhadrakali") and adorations were conducted every day with blessings of Sree Bhadrakali Devi, the chief deity of the temple. There were prosperity and harmony amongst the natives and devotees as well. But as time passed by, this temple became under decline and deterioration, and later it was ruined completely and poojas were discontinued..... As per astrological consultation and "Ashtamangala Preshnam" by famous astrologer Vadakkan Paravoor Sree Sreedharan Thantri, in order to cure of various ills and bad things affecting the natives and the devotes, it is essential to reconstruct the temple and restart the day to day poojas as early as possible. So "Thekkepurackal Devaswom" has been registered (Reg: No IV/60/2003) and initial work for speedy construction of temples has been commenced with sincere efficiency, hard work, and services of the natives and devotees. Construction of the temple mainly for Sree Bhadrakali Devi, Sree Ganapathy, Yakshiamma, Yogeeswaran, Brahmma Rekshas, Nagarajavu, Nagayekshi, Bhoothakala Nagayekshi and Akhila Sarppa Daivangal completed with the advice, direction and supervision of Sthapathy Sree T.V. Raman Achary and "Prathishta Karmam" has been conducted by and leadership of Kshetram Thanthri Brahma Sree Krishnan Namboothiri, Vellimana, Alappuzha (Sabarimala Ex-Melsanthi) on 26 April 2012. But the construction of 'Chuttambalam', 'Kodimaram', 'Gajamandapam', 'Oottupura', renovation of Kshetrakulam etc… are still pending due to lack of finance. Thekkepurackal Devaswom is working closely with natives and devotees to speed up these activities.
